Strangeways, Here We Come is the fourth and final studio album by English rock band The Smiths, recorded in spring 1987 and released on 28 September 1987. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on 19 September 1990. The tracks were composed by the usual duo of Morrissey on vocals and Johnny Marr on lead guitar, with Mike Joyce playing drums and Andy Rourke on bass.
The front sleeve for Strangeways was designed by the usual duo of Morrissey and Jo Slee. It features a grainy shot of English actor Richard Davalos, tinted sepia. Davalos is looking at Morrissey muse James Dean, who is cropped from the image.
